Lyme Disease Association Chapters - Part of LDA

Lyme Disease Association, Cape Code Chapter (LDACCC)
Massachusetts Chapter was formed by a group of individuals who felt that more awareness was needed, especially on the Cape. They have distributed brochures and handled telephone inquiries from people seeking information on Lyme disease.

Lyme Disease Association, Pennsylvania Chapter (LDAPAC)
Pennsylvania Chapter was formed in 1998. The Chapter provides Lyme and other tick-borne disease educational material and programs to residents in Pennsylvania.  Additionally, it educates officials in the state and provides them with data which helps them make policy decisions concerning tick-borne diseases.

Lyme Disease Association, Rhode Island Chapter (LDARIC)
The Chapter was formed due to the lack of knowledge in Rhode Island and the need to educate the public as well as public officials. LDARIC has been successful at both, distributing brochures, hosting education events including LDA’s inservice of the School Nurses Association. They have also been successful in convincing legislators of the need for laws to protect doctors who treat long-term and to require insurance companies to reimburse patients for long-term treatment for Lyme disease.
